Chopsticks

Still Life • Unframed

The Lanterns were grown in my own garden, the lions-head chopsticks and bowl I copped from my son who has a penchant for all things Asian. The fan, my Mother had brought home 35 years ago from Korea. As I placed the fan in my still life set-up, I realised that the beautiful rice paper was meant to be painted on! Nevertheless, it was a fabulous addition to my composition and I loved painting the writings on the wooden part of the fan. I am studying "Sumi-e" art, and I look forward to painting on the fan!
