Cambodia Koi

A friend and painting colleague, recently went to Cambodia and kindly took koi photos for me which were the inspiration for this painting.

My goal in this work, was to capture the turbulent waters and to generate a feeling of movement. The second challenge I posed myself was to make the composition work both vertical and horizontal. Rotated clockwise it works nicely.
