24 x 20" oil
Lilacs line our property and I clipped these beauties upon return from town one morning. I popped them in a Celadon vase my Mother had given me, and painted them from life.
I approached this floral a bit differently in that I focused on the vase; framing it in soft strokes of blossoms and then bringing the eye to the vase with progressively sharpener strokes. The vase as a whole, in focus in the warm Celadon green.
Framed in a white washed wood box frame allowing the blossoms "to breath" beyond the borders.
