Commissioned portrait of a very dear friend for a very dear friend. In portraiture I want to capture the essence of the individual, knowing the person really helps and as a result, the likeness in this case is strong. The painting exudes her joyful personality and wicked sense of humour - RIP Elsie May
This pretty white bird flew in the Yukon from 1978 to 2004. Alas, the owner had retained only one photo of the 1953 Piper Super Cub float plane, so I was commissioned to paint up the memory. A daunting task as memories are tough to paint, especially if they are not your own, however, with loose lively strokes and just the essential details, I hope to evoke high flyin' feelings and let the imagination paint the rest of the memories.
