While I was hanging around Kin Race Track last summer during morning training, I discovered an icon of the equestrian industry. He was engrossed in discussions on the viewing deck by the track and since that day I have wanted to capture the brilliance of the morning sun and the depth of this man's character in a unique and colourful way. I likely should call this work "Agony and Ecstasy" as it was preceded with a lot of time working with colour values and temperatures and a few new colours added to my palette. I did get stuck a few times and decided that studying and impromptu don't mix very well ... so I just went for broke.
